Classes are held in Roseville City Hall, St. Paul near Snelling, Apple Valley Community Center, Chanhassen Library, Maple Grove Community Center, and St. Louis Park near Highway 100. We offer classes on weekday evenings, Saturday mornings, and a one day, eight hour
Saturday class.

- An eight hour class, taught in two sessions of four hours each OR an eight hour Saturday class with both sessions taught on the same day.
“Legal Divorce and Creating Your Parenting Plan” “Communication
and Co-Parenting Skills”
- Under MN Statute 518.157, parents disputing custody or parenting time are
required to take eight hours of co-parenting education.
- If there is no dispute over custody or parenting time, participants may take
only the “Communication/Co-parenting Skills” class in some counties
- Classes may be taken in any order.
- Each class costs $50. (Sliding scale
for IFP)
- Classes are relaxed and participant friendly, including video, interactive
skills exercises, and opportunity to talk with other parents
Communication / Co-Parenting class
includes
- Skills to better work with your co-parenting partner for the sake of your children.
- Communicating in ways that do not create defensiveness.
- Needs of children according to age and development; answering questions.
- Video on children’s experience of divorce.
- Opportunity to talk with other parents.
- Dating; introducing a new person into the family.
Legal / Emotional
Divorce class includes
- Basics of property division, financial arrangements, custody, and parenting time.
- 13 criteria the court requires in a parenting plan.
- Alternative methods of dispute resolution.
- Legal terms to know.
- Emotional divorce and the grieving process.
- Video on parenting time issues.
- Group discussion.
Class Schedule There is no meal break, but you may bring food to eat during class.
